Pulsatilla tatewakii is a compact species which comes from Sakhalin, (an island north of Japan belonging to Russia). It has showy, nodding violet flowers, cupped, but flared open at the mouth. They are open in the spring before the feathery leaves unfold. Compact, with nodding violet flower heads, golden seed pods & feathery foliage.
