Platycodon grandiflorus Apoyama Group

This genus has just one species, which has most unusual flowers, flaring towards the outer end, but for a long time keeping the tips closed over the end of the tube, giving a curious bulbous appearance. Eventually they do open, a cluster on each stem, usually purplish blue.

Platycodon grandiflorus Apoyama Group is a dwarf form with deep blue flowers.
