Platycodon grandiflorus 'Astral White'
This genus has just one species, which has most unusual flowers, flaring towards the outer end, but for a long time keeping the tips closed over the end of the tube, giving a curious bulbous appearance. Eventually they do open, a cluster on each stem, usually purplish blue. Platycodon grandiflorus 'Astral White' has pure white, bell-shaped flowers opening from balloon-like buds.
