Lilium (Nomocharis) apertum is from Yunnan, with wide-open saucer-shaped flowers, usually hanging, rich pink and more or less spotted with deep red, the spots concentrated towards the centre. Instinct is to grow it in humus-rich soil, but in the wild it grows in red clay.
