Helichrysum witbergense
This is a big genus from all the continents except the Americas, with annuals, herbaceous perennials and evergreen shrubs. Many of them have very attractive silvery, hairy foliage, and the daisy-like flowers are used as 'everlasting flowers' when dried. Helichrysum witbergense is a neat, multiply branched little shrub, with each branch lined with short, greyish green leaves with strong parallel ridged veins. It is evergreen, and looks good all year, and the silvery 'everlasting' flowers are a bonus. In time it can get a bit straggly, in which case it can be pruned so that it sprouts lower down and regains a more compact shape.
