Ephedra fedtschenkoi
Ephedra fedtschenkoi is a gymnosperm - a conifer, related to pines and firs - but doesn't look remotely like one. It makes a low, slowly spreading thicket of tufts of slender, wiry, green stems, jointed like those of horsetails. These stems do the photosynthesis. Remarkable conifer with a clump of wiry green stems and red fruit.
