Cistus albidus ex extramadura
A fine genus of shrubs for sunny places in the garden. They have large flowers, usually white or pink, and in many cases with a large, dark red spot on each petal. They produce many flowers over a long period, and as the petals from spent flowers drop to the ground, the plants continue to look good for as long as they flower. Cistus albidus ex extramadura is a good shrub for a sunny, warm position, in many ways like the better known Cistus creticus. It has softly hairy leaves, which therefore look greyish green, and lots of large, bright pink flowers with yellow stamens, produced in succession over a long period.
