Meconopsis 'Mervyn Kessell'
Meconopsis 'Mervyn Kessell' is a vigorous variety, one of the latest ones to flower, with lovely clear blue, closely held, sideways-facing flowers. Leaves are lance-shaped, and when young they are covered with brown bristles. It does not set seed, so all plants are produced by division. It comes from Branklyn Garden, and may well have arisen from seed collected by George Sherriff. Tall, vigorous, late season blue poppy, with clear blue flowers.
