Allium altissimum 'Goliath'

Allium altissimum 'Goliath' has a name meaning tallest of all, and so it is. It can be up to eye level for the tallest of men, and has spherical heads of many purple starry flowers, each with dark purple filaments, some on short stalks and some on long, so it is a dramatic exploding firework, not a neat globe.

Head-high onion with huge, dense umbels of pink flowers. Very striking.
