Allium howellii var. clokeyi
These are species and varieties of onions with that do not grow very tall, and may be suited to use in a rock garden or riased bed, or growing in pots. They have clusters of flowers with pointed petals, which may be white, pink, purple, blue or, in a few cases, yellow.
Allium howellii var. clokeyi is a rare but lovely variety from California, with umbels packed with lots of quite large flowers, white with a hint of pink at the tips. In the wild it grows on mountain slopes in silty soil, with little competition from other plants.
