Primula denticulata 'Rubra'

The drumstick primula is widely grown in suburban gardens - and rightly so. It is robust, multiplies into good clumps quite quickly, and has colourful, dense, round heads of flowers that stand up to the weather. The challenge is to grow it so that it looks natural; if you have space, irregular drifts can achieve this. There are other species in the section, generally rather similar, but much less rarely grown.

Primula denticulata 'Rubra' has round heads of ruby coloured flowers.
