Patrinia monandra
This is a genus that should be better known, with several garden-worthy species, providing colour (usually yellow) after most other plants have finished flowering. They are herbaceous perennials, but some are mat-forming, and are therefore suitable for rock gardens. They all originate from eastern Asia. Patrinia monandra has layers of yellow flowers held at different heights. Electric yellow in colour and followed by lovely seed pods.
