Narcissus asturiensis
As with so many plants, the wild species have elegance and simplicity, although they may not have the exuberant size and colour of cultivated forms. Narcissus Division 13 is reserved for these species, and we offer lots of them. We have put a few of them, such as Narcissus bulbocodium forms, into groups that contain their cultivars and hybrids, if these are often similar to the parents. Narcissus asturiensis is in all respects just like a wild daffodil, but with all its dimensions reduced by a factor of three, so that it is only 10 cm tall and the flowers are about 3 cm in width. It is rare in the wild (in northern Spain and Portugal) and in cultivation.
