The fleabanes are mainly alpine plants, with neat daisy flowers, usually less showy than asters, but making up for it by having lots of flowers. These have a tight central disc, yellow, surrounded by lots of slender ray florets, white or mauve in most species, although there are fine yellow varieties.
Erigeron eatonii var. villosus NNS08-151 is a particularly fine form of this high alpine species from the western mountains of America. It makes compact tufts of linear leaves, well covered with long, soft hairs, and the bracts surrounding the many white daisy flowers are also hairy. It is described by its collector, Ron Ratko, as exquisite.
