Orostachys spinosa Dense spherical rosettes of fleshy green leaves, each with a short pointed spine and faint white leaf margins. The effect is similar to a Sempervivum and it is closely related to Sedum. Star-shaped flowers appear on erect stems during the summer. It can be plunged in a trough or rock garden during the summer, but does need to be kept almost dry in winter. Found on mountains and rocky areas of China.
