Arenaria aggregata subsp. erinacea The genus Arenaria, known also as Irish Moss, or less attractively Sandwort, consists of plants that are usually mats of tight cushions, and make excellent rock garden plants. Arenaria aggregata erinacea, which comes from nother-east Spain, makes mats of rosettes of rather spiky leaves (erinacea means hedgehog-like), and has lots of small white flowers.
