This is a much sought-after iris, which performs best in a warm, dry site, such as very close to a south-facing wall. Here the fragrant lavender flowers with yellow at the centre of the falls will open in succession through the darkest days of winter until well into spring. They can be picked and brought into the house, where their scent will fill a warm room.
