The armerina section contains some small plants, mostly from northern regions, which tend to have clusters of flowers on tall stems over rosettes of small leaves, without any significant amount of meal on leaves or stems. In most cases a single stem looks too lanky and uncomfortable; a patch looks splendid. But they all quickly make substantial mats, and benefit from splitting every year or two. The section includes Primula involucrata, the naming of which has changed over the years. (It all depends on whether one accepts the publication of the name involucrata as valid. If not, then they become Primula munroi.) The plants themselves have ignored the fuss, making mats of small, spoon-shaped leaves, with relatively tall stems carrying umbels of white or pink flowers, depending on the subspecies. All forms have a fine scent.
Primula munroi subsp. yargongensis SDR6121 is a relatively dwarf form, with pink flowers.
