These deciduous azaleas include both species and hybrids, mainly originating in America. We are particularly grateful to Mike Creel of North Carolina for seed, much of it from his own hand-pollinated plants.
Rhododendron 'Persil' is one of the most flamboyant varieties, with magnificent heads of funnel-shaped pure white flowers, each with a bold orange-yellow flare on the inside. Mid green leaves during the summer, changing to burnt orange-red in the autumn.
