Acanthus mollis
A superb plant grown for its architectural structure. The tall spikes of white flowers with purple hoods emerge in the summer but last into the winter. The semi evergreen foliage, with large jagged leaves gives winter structure. 'Bear's breeches'; tall spikes of purple hooded white flowers and jagged leaves.
