Primula cuneifolia

This is a small section with just two species, one from Japan and one from both Japan and British Columbia. They make rosettes of sticky, not mealy, leaves, and have short stems with a single umbel with a few rosy pink or white flowers. primula_cuneifolia

Primula cuneifolia A species from Japan, eastern Siberia and across into north America, as far south as British Columbia. It has dwarf, ground-hugging rosettes of toothed leaves, and up to 9 flowers in a cluster, rose pink or similar shades, with white eyes. The flower stem is short at flowering time, but elongates as the seeds ripen.
