Mutisia retrorsa
Mutisias are beautiful climbing plants from Chile and Argentina, with large daisy-like flowers. Most of the species commonly found in cultivation - M. ilicifolia, M. latifolia, M. oligodon and M. spinosa - have pink flowers, but there are also orange and yellow-flowered ones. They have tough climbing stems with tendrils and evergreen leaves, also tough and usually with somewhat spiny edges. They are not completely hardy in Britain, particularly when cold is combined with wet, so a sheltered place close to a wall or a rock is recommended, where they can be long-lived. Mutisia retrorsa is a species not often seen in cultivation, with lots of large, orange-yellow flowers. Its range extends well south, so it could be hardier than other species.
