These are the herbaceous perennials, not the dwarf alpine kinds. They provide good colour for quite a long period, and make good clumps quite quickly, but should be split before they get too large, to keep them vigorous.

Phlox paniculata 'Bright Eyes' has heads packed with fragrant, light pink flowers with darker centres, and dark green, lance-shaped leaves.
