This is a small alpine plant but with large, colourful flowers. On stems only about 15 cm tall there are up to ten bright yellow daisy flowers, 10 cm or more in diameter. That doesn't leave much space for the foliage, which is covered with long hairs, thus accounting for it being known as the Old Man of the Mountains.
