Gypsophila cerastioIdes 'Rosy Stripe'

Caryophyllaceae

Habitat: open, sunny places

Soil: gritty, well drained

Height: 10 cm

Flowering: late spring

Width: 25 cm

The species is an easy plant for a rock garden or raised bed, making a gently spreading mat of fresh, green leaves, liberally covered with flowers. Normally these are white, but in this variety they are rosy pink; but in all cases each petal there are three clear stripes of deeper red colour - so with five petals on each flower, 'Fifteen Rosy Stripes' might be a better name.
