Gentiana grossheimii

Gentiana grossheimii is a relative of Gentiana septemfida, coming from the Caucasus, and is regarded by some as a sub-species of that species. It sends out lots of leafy stems, tending to lie along the ground, radiating from the central root stock. They carry lots of very intense, deep blue flowers, for a long period from midsummer. Suitable for the rock garden or raised bed.

A prostrate gentian with masses of intense, deep blue flowers.
