These are dwarf daphnes, all wonderful plants for growing in the rock garden or in pots in an alpine house or greenhouse. They are neat shrublets, with fine foliage and clusters of scented flowers, rich pinks in most varieties, although there are white ones. Some have coloured fruit.

Daphne x susannae 'Anton Fahndrich' is a hybrid of Daphne collina and Daphne petraea, and is a neat, compact shrub for a rock garden or trough, or to grow in a pot in an alpine house or cold greenhouse. It has small, dark green leaves, and the scented flowers are dusky pinky-purple.

invisible.gif Daphne cneorum is a compact shrub, low and spreading to as much as a metre across, with small, deep green leaves, the stems terminated with dense clusters of rosy pink flowers, which are wonderfully scented.
invisible.gif Daphne giraldii is a lovely, small, deciduous shrub from China. The leaves are pale green, and golden, scented flowers are produced in terminal clusters in early summer, followed by red, fleshy fruits.
