This is one of the best hardy, herbaceous climbers. From a thick, tuberous root the stems climb, and climb, and climb. Even to 8 metres. It supports itself with tendrils, has fine, ferny foliage, and pure yellow flowers with the classic Dicentra shape. Indeed, it used to be call Dicentra, before that genus was split into several smaller ones.
