Iris spuria subsp. halophila

Iridaceae

Habitat: open, sunny places

Soil: any good garden soil

Height: 90 cm

Flowering: early to mid summer

Width: 40 cm

The sub-species name means salt-loving, which doesn’t help much with its description, but it is all that we have been able to find so far. The species has strong, broad leaves, and the flowers may be blue, yellow or white - which is a broad enough description to cover every iris in the book.
