This is one of the easily grown Sibirica irises, coming from the Himalaya, specifically in this case from West Bengal, near the border with Nepal. The flowers are described as violet or blue or purple, in practice a colour that is a mixture of these, with a large white patch on the falls, the patch having a network of violet veins.
