Aptly named, this is indeed a magnificent plant, which is at home in a herbaceous border, but will also thrive in really wet conditions. It is herbaceous, but each year it produces lots of large leaves, and then sends up tall stems, with many large, golden yellow daisy flowers. It is known as elecampane, although I must admit that is a name I have read about, but never heard anyone speak.
