Most members of this genus are grown for their foliage, and there is a huge range of varieties with exotic coloured leaves. They make great ground cover, or can be used to soften the edges of paths.
Heuchera 'Midnight Rose' is a spectacular variety with black background foliage spotted with rich pink marks in spring, turning to a lighter shade of black with cream and pink dots in summer. Quite unlike anything we have seen before.

| Heuchera 'Amethyst Mist' has deep maroon, or to make it sound more classy, burgundy, foliage, strongly patterned, almost covered, on the upper surface with silver. | |
| Heuchera 'Ebony and Ivory' has a particulary good combination of foliage and flower colour. Deep bronze-purple foliage and lovely pale cream flowers. | |
| Heuchera 'Sugar Frosting' is a highly attractive and compact variety, with silver-violet markings on burgundy leaves and creamy white flower spikes. | |
| Heuchera villosa has dark leaves and spikes of creamy flowers. | |
| x Heucherella 'Kimono' has green, palmate leaves, with a central zone in each lobe a much darker, purple colour. The flowers are rosy pink. |
