The day lilies are one of those groups of plants that have been extensively developed by plant breeders, especially in America. There are increasing numbers of brightly coloured forms, often with bizarre patterns. We tend to go for small ones, particularly species. They all have narrow foliage, and produce a sequence of flowers, each lasting for just one day, through the summer.
Hemerocallis 'Pink Damask' has salmon-pink flowers with a pale mid-rib.
| Hemerocallis 'Crimson Pirate' is crimson, as it says on the tin. The pirate bid is just made up. | |
| Hemerocallis 'Eenie Weenie' is an exceptionally compact variety, with bright yellow flowers. | |
| Hemerocallis 'Lemon Bells' produces a succession of elegant clear yellow trumpet-shaped flowers, flushed bronze on the back. | |
| Hemerocallis minor is one of the earliest flowering daylilies with golden yellow blooms and a lovely honeysuckle scent. | |
| Hemerocallis nana is a short, stocky day lily with golden orange flowers. | |
| Hemerocallis sp. has deep orange to red flowers, but unfortunately we don't have a name for the specific variety. |
