There are very many gentians that come from China, the Himalaya and Japan, some low ones and some with upright stems. All are beautiful, and most can be grown without too much difficulty.
Gentiana triflora 'Alba' is the white-flowered variety of this rightly popular species, with upright stems and clusters of large flowers.

| Gentiana robusta is indeed robust, with an upright stem clad with broad, bright green leaves, topped with a dense cluster of lots of flowers, white tinged with green or blue. It comes from the Himalaya, from Nepal into western China. | |
| Gentiana 'Strathmore' has lovely, somewhat mottled, pale blue trumpet flowers. |
