Classic alpine plans, making neat domes of evergreen foliage, often perfectly hemispherical. The heads of flowers are on short stems, often buttercup yellow or occasionally white, making a second hemisphere.
Draba aizoides is a cushion-forming plant with succulent-like dark green leaves with bristled margins. The bright yellow clusters of flowers appear on upright stems making the actual plant look twice as large! It is surprisingly hardy, but it will not tolerate excessive winter wet.
