Also known as teasel, this is a wonderful plant for a wild garden or flower border. The tall spikes of thistle-like flowers, either pinkish purple or white, are very attractive to bees and the seedheads provide autumn food for birds. The prickly seed heads were once used for combing (teasing) fleeces.
