A vigorous, architectural plant for a wet place, spectacular in spring, when tall shoots arise, with big heads of many small, pink flowers, which are followed by the dinner plate-sized leaves, one on each stem, held horizontally. It spreads slowly by thick rhizomes, but after 25 years in our garden, it is only recently that we have decided to restrict its growth.
