These are dwarf daphnes, all wonderful plants for growing in the rock garden or in pots in an alpine house or greenhouse. They are neat shrublets, with fine foliage and clusters of scented flowers, rich pinks in most varieties, although there are white ones. Some have coloured fruit.
Daphne x burkwoodii 'Somerset' is a particularly hardy form with pink buds that open to a soft white in early spring. It is deciduous and will form an attractive rounded bush.|
