These are dwarf daphnes, all wonderful plants for growing in the rock garden or in pots in an alpine house or greenhouse. They are neat shrublets, with fine foliage and clusters of scented flowers, rich pinks in most varieties, although there are white ones. Some have coloured fruit.

Daphne x burkwoodii 'Somerset' is a particularly hardy form with pink buds that open to a soft white in early spring. It is deciduous and will form an attractive rounded bush.

invisible.gif Daphne domini is a compact, evergreen dwarf shrub, suitable for growing in a rock garden or raised bed. It has clusters of tubular pink flowers in spring, which are followed by showy orange fruit in the middle of summer.
