A genus that includes our native sea pink or thrift, often seen on coastal rocks. They make mats of bright green grassy foliage, with lots of pink or white button flowers, usually on short stems.

Armeria maritima 'Düsseldorfer Stolz' is a variety of the familiar sea pink with very deep pink flowers.
