We are happy to open the garden to groups. The valley is beautiful with views down to the River North Esk, to Mavisbank House and to the Pentland Hills. The garden is full of interesting plants and there is something in flower every day of the year. It is a relaxing and refreshing place for those who have an interest in plants, floral art or who simply want a pleasant social outing.

A guided tour can be given with information about the development of the garden, plants and design issues. Lots of tips for gardeners!

Please wear strong shoes, and note that the garden is on a steep slope, and access to most of it is down sloping paths or steps.

All visits are by appointment only.

Refreshments

Light refreshments are available for groups in the house.

Plant stall

We will bring a selection of plants from the nursery to the garden. On our small stall you are likely to find something not found in a garden centre! You may order in advance from our plant catalogue, which has a list of plants, descriptions and many photographs.

Extended programmes

We can help you arrange a whole day's programme, with visits to other gardens, places of interest, walks etc.

Access for the disabled

The top part of the garden is suitable for disabled access but the slope is difficult for those with mobility problems.

Visit prices

Although small groups are welcome the minimum charge is for 15 people.
